When I hit “restart” on my business in April, I thought I had to come out swinging, polished, perfect, with all the answers.

The past few months have been a beautiful whirlwind. I turned 40 in February, got let go in March, restarted my business in April & now I'm thriving in May!

When my freelance contract ended due to a shift in the company’s workload, I felt a strange calm. Like "maybe this is a good thing". I was starting to feel too comfortable & I was lacking passion. But then came the fear, self-doubt & that overwhelming "where do I even start" feeling.

I was fearful of failure, fearful of success & doubting if I could really do it again.

That's when I decided: I won't operate from a sense of fear & self-doubt anymore. I poured myself back into my business (honestly, a little too hard, I got sick). But that was a wake-up call too. I realized: yes I want to work hard on my business & build something impactful, but not at the expense of my health or the freedom & flexibility I started this business for.

Fear is paralyzing. It'll stop you in your tracks & keep you from getting the ball moving in your business or in life.

Self-doubt is that inner monster that can rob you of joy & keep you up at night.

But peace, purpose & doing it your way? That’s where the real transformation begins.

Once I truly tapped into that, clients started finding me & opportunities flowed in. It felt like a blessing, showing me: you can do this, just do it right this time.

In just 2 months of choosing clarity over fear, here’s what aligned for me:

• 4 incredible clients
• 2 collab projects
• I started building my Wix Studio Template Shop (coming soon!)
• I was invited to share my story on a podcast🎙️ (thanks @catherinecreativesupport)

None of this happened by accident. It came from showing up consistently, trusting my voice, & staying aligned with why I do this. If you're in a phase of uncertainty, know that momentum builds when you take imperfect, purposeful steps.

I’ve been quiet on here lately—& in my business too. In 2023 I stepped away from my business to work with an SEO agency, hoping it would bring “stability,” but what I really found was clarity: if you’re building a legacy, it has to be on your terms.

Don't get me wrong, collaborating with other agencies can be a great way to expand your skills & income, but don’t lose sight of yourself & your passions.

True stability isn’t in a paycheck. It’s in purpose & showing up for your vision—even when it’s hard.

It is not easy juggling all of the different roles in my life - designer, wifey, volunteer, daughter, sister, & business owner.

I remember a time when I was struggling with work/life balance. I felt exhausted, stressed out & overwhelmed.

That's when I decided to reevaluate & adjust. These are a few things that helped me:
• A realistic schedule. Just because you own your own business, doesn't mean you should work 24/7. When I'm off, I'm off, period. (Especially mentally!)
• Learn to say no. I've learned to say no to negative feelings, clients that don't match my vibe & projects that don't ignite my creativity.
• Make self-care a priority. I feel at my best when I take time to exercise, enjoy nature, stretch, eat well, read, meditate & relax.

I'm still working on perfecting my work/life balance, but I'm happy with my progress so far!

Success in business often comes with its fair share of mistakes. I know I've made more than a few! That's why I believe in embracing failure as part of the growth process. Here are three mistakes I've made on my business journey:

Underestimating my worth & not fully realizing the value I bring to the table. This leads to stress, & imposter syndrome.
- I've learned to know my worth. Never underestimate yourself & the impact you can bring to people's lives.

Working excessively without setting boundaries. This took a toll on my overall productivity & well-being.
- I've learned to set boundaries for myself & others. Make sure you always have time for yourself & the people & things you love.

Losing sight of my initial goal, which was to achieve a balanced work & family life while doing what I love.
- Never allow yourself to lose sight of your goals & what's really important to you.
